More tryout details here.

Over the past 8 months, our team has been dedicated to enhancing our organization's processes to provide a better experience for all our families. While we may not always be perfect, our goal remains to continually improve BTBA. We sincerely hope that many of you have noticed positive changes already.

One significant initiative we've been working on is improving our tryout system. Based on extensive research and consultations with MBL and other travel baseball associations, we have decided to conduct tryouts after the season ends. This timing allows players to showcase their skills in optimal baseball condition and demonstrate their progress over the year. We believe this approach will provide a fairer and more accurate evaluation.

Last year, we piloted this new approach with fall tryouts, which despite a few challenges, were among the best BTBA has seen in recent years. Building on that experience, we are pleased to announce that this year's tryouts will be held even earlier, on a single day event: Monday, July 29th, with a backup date of Tuesday, July 30th in case of inclement weather.

To ensure impartial evaluations, we have enlisted the expertise of The Yard from Rochester. Their evaluators, including experienced professionals like Bo McClintock and Mitch Brown, bring a wealth of high-level baseball experience to the process. The evaluation format will include stations for fly balls, ground balls, soft toss, live hitting from a pitching machine, and a 30-yard dash.

Registration details will be available here closer to the date of tryouts. We will start with incoming 15-year-olds, followed by 14s, 13s, and after a break, continue with 9s through 12s to complete the day's evaluations.

We are excited about the improvements and enhancements we are bringing to BTBA, and we look forward to seeing all the players at tryouts. Please stay tuned for more updates as we approach the registration period. Please share this information with any families that you know may be interested in joining Bandits next season.
