BTBA 2020 Update & Uniform Information

BTBA Families,

MBL will be moving forward with their revised 2020 season with games starting July 6th!  Team representatives are already working hard to coordinate fields and game dates for the July/August program this week.  Field availability is tight, so please be as flexible as possible and inform your coaches of any dates your player will be unavailable.  Look for more information regarding your team's schedule in the coming days.

Do you have questions about player safety and protocol for the upcoming season?  You can find more information and guidelines on the Stay Safe MN initiative via the link below.

Teams that registered for the upcoming MBL season can use prior year Bloomington Bandits uniforms or create their own custom uniforms/designs. For any teams choosing to make custom shirts or caps, we have added a new "Resources" folder to the Documents section of this site containing several of our BTBA Logos.  You are free to utilize these BTBA images so long as any custom creations are done in good taste and are of a respectful nature. Coaches have also been sent an Excel Spreadsheet listing each player's selected uniform sizes from our March tryouts as an added reference for ordering.  Feel free to use any custom T-Shirt shops around the Twin Cities or online, including our very own Spirit Wear contact: Lori at

Below is one example custom shirt/cap package (with pricing) that some of our 13U and 11U teams put together in partnership with Bloomington Custom Embroidery.  BCE is a reliable local print and embroidery shop that BTBA has parterned with for many years.  They have graciously offered to keep this package/pricing open for any additional teams that want to place an order.

Anyone considering custom packages should try to get orders in ASAP as we are only a few weeks away from the start of the season.

Go Bandits!

2020 Season Updates

The BTBA Board of Directors met on June 4th and have formally decided to cancel our traditional 2020 baseball season.  We will be issuing refunds of the registration fees, less $55 per play to cover tryout and additional expenses already incurred this year.  Please watch for upcoming communications on with more details on the refund process.

For those still looking to play some ball this Summer, MBL is developing a new, abbreviated season in July/August this year.  This proposed league is still pending approval, but would offer a six week, 12 game season with the potential for some tournament play as well.  BTBA plans to support existing teams that want to play in this revised format and can assist with roster or coaching changes that may be needed.  Please watch for a communication from your coach or team manager, or reach out to them with questions.  Team coordinators should be reaching out to you to gauge your interest this week.  More information can also be found on the MBL Homepage.

Our full board minutes from the latest meeting are available in our Documents section, or direct link to them here:

BTBA Parents, Guardians, & Players:

First and foremost, we hope everyone in our baseball community is staying safe and healthy through these difficult times.

The BTBA Board of Directors continues to work with the Metro Baseball League and Minnesota state officials on a path back to playing baseball this season.  There are still many unanswered questions on how to proceed and recent local events have obviously pushed youth sports to a lower priority for the time being.

We will continue to update you with the latest information via our home page and email communications as it becomes available.  In addition to these updates, you can review our 5/21 BTBA Board Meeting Minutes for recent proposals and the latest board discussions.  Updated news directly from MBL and the 2020 Safe Play: Back to the Diamond initiative can also be found on the Metro Baseball League home page.

As always, thank you for your patience and understanding.
